Best building experience we have ever had. My daughter is very, very happy with her own space and she will have independent living in a safe environment. Superior were very aware of her needs and completed our unit ontime and on budget. They were respectful of our living space and privacy. They listened to us and responded to our requests from the beginnning to the end of the process making sure we were supported and happy with the outcomes always. Simon and Doug were always attentive and responded when contacted. Trade crews worked tirelessly were positive and very proud of there work so everything was outstanding with finishes all of a very high quality. They came when scheduled and never missed a day even in hot or wet weather. They completed our granny flat in 14 weeks. Superior built me a Granny Flat 300kms north east of Melbourne. Even at that distance nothing was too much trouble for the company. I cannot compliment the Management, staff and subcontractors enough. We engaged Superior Granny Flats to build a small granny flat and unusually to also renovate concurrently a room that was an enclosed carport - attached to the existing house - and used as a spare storage room.The Granny Flat layout is based on affordable range Option 1 but built to their Superior Range standard. It comprises a large bedroom, more than big enough for a king bed, a bathroom - shower and toilet - with space for a washing machine and dryer and a walk-in-robe. The renovated room consists of one half being a kitchen with space for a fridge, sink, dishwasher, stove and microwave, ample bench space, in addition to cupboard space for pantry and cutlery etc. The other half of the room is a lounge area big enough for 2 recliner chairs and coffee table, a television and split system both mounted on the wall.We elected to do this approach as the size of the block of land was limited, but its location was great for access for shops, schools and transport. The end use was for us (2 people) to use the Granny Flat and the renovated room, the original main house being used by family (2 adults and 2 children).The result is high class. The finishes for both areas are exceptional, especially the internal room as it is unrecognisable from what it was. The team of trades that Superior Granny Flats have are all first rate and were at all times professional and fielded queries about the build.We are very happy with the end result and would highly recommend Superior Granny Flats for any of their wide range of Granny Flats.Peter and Julie

We had an amazing experience with Superior Granny Flats. Thanks to Doug for starting us off and Simon for carrying us through. Every step of the process is clearly communicated, with updates as you go. All the trades were polite and friendly and were also happy to answer any adhoc questions.We chose the superior range - option 10 with a few modifications, we removed the 2nd bedroom, added the return on the bench, ceiling fans and changed the setup of our main bedroom. You get a lot of autonomy on the finishes and almost nothing is out of the question in terms of customisation. We feel the price is excellent for the finishes and the size and we couldn't be happier with our unit.If you aren't sure whether to take the plunge with a DPU, absolutely talk to Superior Granny Flats. I know I've dropped their name already!

At the back of my house I have a piece of land with spare space, and I have been considering how to utilize it. Having a small cabin at the back would be perfect to allow my mother to move in, so we can be close but have some privacy at the same time. In my research for granny flat builders around Melbourne, I literally visited every ad I could find over a six-month period. It was only after I visited all around the state that I realized Superior granny flats' engagement and communication were superior to everyone else's.It took about 5 months this winter to build Option 12 (Superior range) on their website. It turned out there was a lot more stuff to consider, including insurance, council permits, and building related documents, which I had no idea about or how to prepare for. They were simply champions and got everything ready for you. No matter what the bank tells me about finance or what the council says about the building process, I have never been stuck. Throughout the entire process, the team from the superior granny flat demonstrated their care and availability for me.Even the last step (cleaning) was perfect, so we didn't have much to do before my mother moved in.If you are considering building a granny flat, I highly recommend Superior Granny Flat.
